Police have issued an alert after five cats were put to sleep in Stroud.
The cats were taken unwell and put to sleep after coming into contact with anti-freeze in the Paganhill estate area of Stroud.
The cats were found to be unwell on August 12.
While police say they don't have any evidence to suggest the incident was malicious, they ask all residents to check vehicles to ensure they do not have a leak or spillages.
Uncleaned spillages can get on animals' paws, meaning they ingest the anti-freeze as they clean themselves.
Anti-freeze is toxic to animals and cats in particular are attracted to the sweet taste.
Anyone with information on this incident should call 101, quote incident number 0268 of August 16.
The above information was sent out on a neighbourhood alert.
Always call 999 in an emergency.
