A FAMOUS duo will be baking an entrance at a show home in Stonehouse – and the local community have been invited to come along.
Celebrity bakers Val Stones and Louise Williams - stars of the Great British Bake Off in 2016 - will be making an array of baked goods at the Redrow South West’s development, The Alders at Great Oldbury, on De Liesle Bush Way this weekend.
Organisers have invited residents from across the Stroud District to enjoy some tasty bakes inside their recently launched show homes between 11am-4pm on Saturday, August 12.
On the day, visitors will be able to enjoy the star bakers’ menu of sweet and savoury afternoon tea treats, including pork and vegetarian sausage rolls, pistachio citrus cake, mini Victoria sponges, almond tarts, and mini millionaire shortcakes, as well as scones with clotted cream and homemade jams.
Guests will also get the opportunity to try their hand at cake decorating, whilst being guided by the experts.
In addition, visitors will be able to explore the five-bedroom Hampstead show home.
On the ground floor, there is an open-plan kitchen, a dining room and a lounge, and upstairs there are five bedrooms, two of which have an en-suite.
Also available to view on the day is the three-bedroom The Oxford Lifestyle, which offers an open-plan kitchen and dining room, with large bi-folding doors which flood the home with natural light.
Upstairs, the main bedroom boasts a walk-through wardrobe and a generous en-suite.
The two further bedrooms also have their own en-suites.
Sian Smith, sales director for Redrow South West, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming the community to come together for this exciting day with Bake Off stars, Val and Louise.
“Here at Redrow, we like to offer prospective homebuyers a glimpse into what life at our development is like when viewing our show homes, and what better way to do this than by hosting our very own event with freshly baked sweet treats.
“We’re so pleased to have Val and Louise join us for the day and look forward to seeing the professionals do what they do best – baking! We look forward to welcoming local people to taste special treats.”
