MOTORISTS are being warned that a major road in Stroud is shut after today's torrential downpour left the surface badly damaged.
Tarmac on part of Westward Road in Ebley has split and buckled.
As a result, a small stretch of the route at the traffic lights by the junction leading to Ebley Mill and Fifth Dimension gym is shut in both directions.
The road will be shut until the surface is repaired.
As a result there is likely to be congestion in the morning and motorists should plan an alternative route.
