A FAMOUS campaigner has praised Stroud after appearing at an event in the town.
Food writer and campaigner Jack Monroe held a talk at the Sub Rooms on Friday as part of the food and drink festival.
Monroe - who has half a million followers on Twitter - said: "What a lovely bunch of people who turned out to the talk at the festival - one of my favourite audiences I’ve ever had.
"The event was full of hugs, kindness and hope."
