A PROMINENT Cotswolds roadside inn near Stroud has closed its doors suddenly.
Foston's Ash Inn near Camp has released a short statement its website: “Business closed until further notice.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
The grade II listed pub is on a key route on the B4070 Calf Way on the way to Birdlip and the Air Balloon roundabout between Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud.
The Fostons Ash Inn, is believed to have been named after a former turnpike keeper and was built around 1800.
It has been known as a polo pub in recent years and was placed on the market earlier this year in February for £925,000.
It was previously nominated for awards such as GLA Pub of the year 2019 and CotswoIds Life Food and Drink 2019.
