On Monday afternoon, I walked from Uplands to Homebase and on to Tesco, then back home. The only pavements that were clear, were the pavements of people who had cleared their own and the pavements within Tesco’s own boundary.
I think this is atrocious, and dangerous, why aren’t the highways/councils not clearing the pavements? Even the pavements by the bus stop were dangerous to walk on, surely the bus company could clear the area of snow/ice and grit it?
Can I make a suggestion that would cure 2 problems at once. I and others tried to get our pavements cleared of weeds and brambles over the summer, with limited success. The highways/councils should do as they did a number of years ago and have quad bikes, then in the summer they could spread weed killer and when it snows they could spread grit. Other countries seems to be able to keep their pavements clear and safe for their citizens when it snows.
