A LEISURE centre in Brockworth has reopened after a £1m revamp.
Brockworth Sports Centre has a new gym, group exercise space plus new family-friendly changing rooms.
The centre is located at Henley Bank High School in Mill Lane, Brockworth.
As part of a new partnership, the school has joined forces with social enterprise and registered charity Halo Leisure to improve and run the centre.
Halo will run and maintain the leisure centre for up to 15 years, but the school will still own all its leisure buildings and facilities, and have a big say on how they are run and developed.
Head teacher Stephen Derry, said: "We wanted to find a partner who could make a substantial investment into our sports centre so that we could give the best opportunities possible not just to our students, but to the wider community too.
"We have seen the way Halo has transformed other leisure centres, and the dramatic impact they have had on visitor numbers - and therefore to the health of the communities around them.
"We're delighted with the renovations and the new facilities, and are very excited to continue working with Halo to provide an even better facility for our students and local community."
