A SPATE of new food hygiene ratings have been awarded to over a dozen establishments across Stroud.
Food hygiene ratings reflect the hygiene standards which are found on the day of inspection by the local authority - they are not a guide to food quality.
The three areas which are inspected by a food safety officer are the food handling, the conditions of the facilities and the management of food safety.
Ratings are given on a score from 0-5, with five being the highest.
