A FRUIT and veg business has closed down after five years of trading.
Marrows Fruit and Veg which was based in the Mills Estate in Nailsworth has been providing food to schools, pubs and restaurants
They said in a statement on Facebook that they were ‘heartbroken’ but said it was no long viable to keep trading due to Covid, Brexit and the cost of livinig.
They said: “Marrows Fruit and Veg Ltd launched in July 2017, our aim was to provide high quality fruit and vegetables to many households and businesses.
“During our time we feel we've helped thousands across the cotswolds and surrounding areas including schools, pubs, restaurants, charities, animal sanctuary, leisure facilities to name a few.
“This is why it is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Marrows Fruit and Veg Ltd.
“As you can appreciate we are in unprecedented times and with Covid, the cost of living, importing, rising cost of produce and Brexit we've made the decision that it is no longer viable for Marrows Fruit and Veg Ltd to keep trading.
“As of 1pm today Marrows Ltd will be permanently closed.
“We want to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support over the years, we've had 5 great years and loved meeting, chatting and delivering to you all.
"Thank you.”
