STAFF from Longfield Community Hospice were joined by a team of volunteers to plant 800 metal Michaelmas daisies at Stroud’s Museum in the Park on Monday.

Following two successful Appeals using metal flowers as a way for people to remember a loved one, Longfield is now offering an eye-catching Michaelmas daisy as part of its Daisy Appeal. In exchange for a generous donation, supporters can donate and reserve a beautiful blue daisy as a way of remembering loved ones no longer with us.

The daisies, sponsored by Daikin, will be displayed at Stroud’s Museum in the Park until August 21st, before being dispatched to their new forever homes.

A team of volunteers from the Bottle Green Drinks Company in South Woodchester joined staff from Longfield to install the daisies in the stunning tiered gardens.

Gabrielle Cochrane, Supporter Relations Officer at Longfield explained:

“The Daisy Appeal is an in-memory appeal, so all supporters can donate to receive a metal daisy, but before they go to their forever homes they are being planted in the

Museum in the Park as a sort of remembrance garden. People can come here, look at the daisies and have a bit of time to reflect, and to remember their loved ones,”

Longfield supports people in Gloucestershire with a life-limiting illness, from diagnosis onwards. As well as providing Hospice at Home care, Longfield also offers help and support to patients, families and carers through a range of Wellbeing services at the hospice.

To reserve a daisy, visit longfield.org.uk/daisy-appeal or call the fundraising team on 01453 886868. The suggested donation is £30 per daisy.
