THE owners of a 16th century pub have decided to call it a day after more than 15 years. 

The 'current financial climate and the impacts of the pandemic' have led the directors of The Old Forge Inn, Whitminster, to announce their departure from the pub. 

Stroud News and Journal:

"We have sadly come to the end of the barrel," read a statement on the pub's social media. 

"Due to the current financial climate, the impacts of Covid on the pub trade and with other pressures, it is time to call time at The Old Forge Inn after almost 15+ years.

"We would like to thank our loyal customers new and old for their support.

"Over those years it has been nothing short of a fantastic ride but all good things come to an end

"Of course we still have FORGEFEST this year on Saturday, July 30.

"That will still be the event of the year and now also one of our final farewells.

"We hope to see you all there it will be a blast.

After three years FORGEFEST is back at the Old Forge Inn with 13 hours of music, stalls and drinks. 

Forgefest 22 will take place on Saturday, July 30 between 11am and midnight.  

Entry for the event is free.

"Carolyn and her staff do a fantastic job. We will definitely be at Forgefest and do our best to make the next few weeks the best ever."
