A NEW BUSINESS has opened in the Five Valleys Shopping Centre.

The Cotswold Grocer has officially opened at Five Valleys bringing a wide selection of traditional and exotic fruits, green vegetables, salad items, roots and potatoes to the popular Indoor Market.

Local shoppers can now complete their weekly food shopping of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy produce, bread and much more from a variety of market traders found in the Indoor Market which has just celebrated its second birthday at the centre.

Owner, Jack Knight, launches the fruit and veg business at the same time as taking over the lease on the current Waghornes Butchers unit also found within the market.

The store will be rebranded as Knights Artisan Butchers and will continue to stock the full range currently offered by Waghornes.

When asked about the two ventures, Jack commented: “After managing Waghornes for the past two years I’m hugely excited to be rebranding and continuing to serve our loyal customer base.

“I saw a great opportunity to also offer shoppers a good quality fruit and veg range.

"With all the centre developments afoot we see the huge potential in this already thriving market and have found that Stroud is an excellent place to provide people with locally sourced, good quality produce.”

Following the exact same values held at Waghornes, The Cotswold Grocer will be sourcing as much British produce as possible and promises to continue providing their customers with the highest quality, fresh selection.

As well as this, Jack will continue to ensure minimal waste is produced with all excess meat made into natural dog food.

Jack’s plan is to also reduce any product waste at the greengrocer, adding: “We will be juicing our fruit and veg too, creating the freshest juices for our customers to enjoy!”

Centre manager of Five Valleys Shopping Centre Jessica Derham said: “The Cotswold Grocer completes the line-up at our Indoor Market and we’re extremely excited to work alongside Jack and his team to offer a great food shopping offer to our visitors”.

The Cotswold Grocer will be open Monday – Saturday and can be found in the unit which was formally The Vine Shop.
