STROUD MP Siobhan Baillie has decided who she is backing in the race to be the next Conservative leader.
The next leader of the Tory party will by default be the next Prime Minister, replacing Boris Johnson.
As of writing eight candidates have put their names forward including Grant Shapps, Penny Mordaunt, Sajid Javid and Jeremy Hunt.
Ms Baillie has however decided to back the former chancellor Rishi Sunak.
"I am backing Rishi as the best choice for Britain.
"His quick thinking and creativity during the pandemic protected the jobs, livelihood and wellbeing of thousands across Stroud.
"He shares my passion for improving life chances for all children, strengthening families and supporting the vital skills agenda for our economy."
