AN ITALIAN restaurant has opened in the centre of Stroud.
Terra - which means Earth - opened in the Five Valleys shopping centre following a launch event on Wednesday night.
The new restaurant and bar can be found in the Sandersons boutique store at the shopping centre.
It offers a range of authentic recipes from handmade Raviolini to the restaurant's signature family Tiramisu.
You can see 30 pictures of the food on offer here.
Serving homemade Italian food
Matteo and Clara have worked closely with the owners of Sandersons to create a restaurant and food offer to complement the shopping experience within the boutique store.
A new team of seven have also been appointed to join the owners to create and serve a 'great selection of Italian food and drinks,' brought to the UK from Rome, where Matteo and Clara came from eight years ago.
Terra will serve a selection of homemade Italian food using the owners' unique recipes handed down through the generations from their families in Rome.
“We are passionate about serving exquisite Italian food using the best ingredients we can find to complement our traditional family recipes," said Clara.
“Many of the dishes available at Terra are going to be typical of our region, but we’ve also included favourites from other parts of Italy, such as slow-roasted venison with pappardelle, to ensure we’re offering a full and exciting menu for our diners," said Matteo.
The restaurant welcomed VIP guests to their launch on Wednesday and the team said feedback was 'overwhelmingly positive' regarding the look of the restaurant, food and customer service.
Clara added: “We’d like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the guests who attended and showed their support for our opening night. We hope to see many of them again soon.”
Simon Bateman, store manager at Sandersons, said: “The new restaurant and bar looks fantastic, we’d like to wish the team at Terra all the very best and look forward to working with them to deliver a fantastic dining experience to our shoppers.”
