ORGANISERS took to the streets of Stroud to show their opposition to the UK government's 'controversial' plan to send refugees to Rwanda.
Monday's silent vigil - which took place outside of the Sub Rooms in the centre of Stroud - was the first of three events to be held this week in the town, as residents show their opposition to the current plans.
This comes as the first flight of refugees from the UK to Rwanda was due to take place this week, although a European court ruling halted it.
Despite this 11th-hour legal ruling, Home Secretary Priti Patel has insisted the Government will press ahead with its plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.
A second vigil is to take place today (Thursday, June 16) outside the Sub rooms at 6pm.
The images from Monday's event were sent in to us by the Stroud district Green party.
