A STROUD surgery has been put up for sale.
Locking Hill has been put on the market for £550,000 by estate agents Hawkins Watton.
The building will be surplus to requirements when existing patients move into the Stroud Medical Centre which is due to be completed in the autumn.
The project is creating a new £6.5m town centre facility for two of the town’s established GP practices, Locking Hill Surgery and Stroud Valleys Family Practice, as well as a pharmacy and additional space for a range of other complementary health and service providers.
Despite the for sale sign, patients have been assured that there will be no disruption to ongoing services until the move to the medical centre is complete.
Locking Hill's statement
A statement from the surgery read: "We would like to inform patients that we have started the process of selling the surgery, as it will be surplus to our needs when we move to our new premises.
"This is why there is a “for sale” board outside the surgery.
"The sale of the surgery will not complete until we have gained occupation of our new premises.
"Please be assured that there will be no disruption to our usual services during this time."
What is the property?
Hawkins Watton, the estate agent selling the property, said it comprises of a purpose-built detached two-storey surgery building, most recently used as a GP surgery.
Currently the building is configured internally so the upper floors provide the main public reception, waiting room, and a series of consulting and treatment rooms.
The lower floor, which is smaller, provides further various size offices, meeting room, kitchen and stores.
Externally there is generous car parking to the front of the building with 19 parking bays.
