A STROUD politician has shared her disappointment that she has been deemed 'not suitable' to be Labour's next candidate for the parliamentary constituency.
Doina Cornell - who is the leader of Stroud District Council - announced last week that she was putting her hat into the ring to be the next parliamentary candidate for the Stroud constituency.
Ms Cornell took to social media this afternoon to announce that the Labour Party had 'decided she wasn't suitable to be on the parliamentary longlist for Stroud'.
"I’m disappointed local members won’t get to choose whether or not to vote for me.
"I will be putting out a statement later today.
"Thank you everyone for your wonderful support."
