A NEW restaurant is coming to the Stroud town centre.
It will be located in Sandersons Boutique at Five Valleys Shopping Centre and will offer homemade Italian food.
Owners, married couple Matteo Conte and Clara Cardillo, moved to the Cotswolds from Rome eight years ago and quickly got to work building a business doing what they loved, cooking and serving delicious Italian food using recipes and ingredients from their homeland.
Terra, which means Earth, is a reference to simple, fresh ingredients they will be using to build their menu.
Matteo said: “Many of the dishes available at Terra are going to be typical of our region, but we’ve also included favourites from other parts of Italy, such as slow roasted venison with pappardelle, to ensure we’re offering a full and exciting menu for our diners.
“One thing is certain, the very best of all ingredients will be used from the highest quality olive oil, cheese and of course, fresh pasta.”
A melting pot of cuisines will be on offer with many dishes made using family recipes that have been passed down and loved by three generations, including a signature Tiramisu.
Matteo and Clara also own, and will continue to run, with the help of Clara’s parents, Patrizia D’Onofrio and Andrea Cardillo, the Non-Solo Pasta unit within the Five Valleys Indoor Market, where they have served their award-winning arancini for the past two years.
A special tasting menu will sit alongside their homemade limoncello, consisting of a special squid ink arancini accompanied by homemade lemon mayonnaise and a spaghetti dish laced with lemon served with prawn tartare.
The team have collaborated with a top London company to source carefully selected wines direct from Italian vineyards which will be complimented by a range of Italian themed cocktails and of course prosecco.
Opening for breakfast too, diners will be offered a warm Mediterranean welcome with a side of great quality Italian coffee.
There will also be a dedicated brunch menu on offer every Sunday.
The restaurant, which is receiving quarter million-pound investment, is due to open on Thursday, June 16.
Diners will be able to enjoy a beautifully designed, luxurious space mirroring the shopping environment offered by Sandersons Boutique.
There will be seven full time jobs created at Terra, which joins a fantastic line up of new independent retailers who have recently celebrated their first birthday at Five Valleys.
