STROUD District Council have provided an update regarding the waste and recycling collection days this week due to the Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Residents are reminded to put their waste and recycling containers out in their normal place by 6am on collection day this week.

No change

Although there will be no change to collection days over the extended Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday, there may be changes to collection times as crews prioritise streets with official road closures.

All refuse containers must be easily accessed by collection crews.

And as more vehicles will be parked on residential streets when collections are taking place it’s important to ensure there is enough room for the waste and recycling vehicles to navigate streets.

Waste and recycling from street parties should be placed in household bins or recycling containers.

Cllr Chloe Turner, Stroud District Council Environment Committee chair said: “We want to make sure that services continue to run smoothly over the extended bank holiday weekend.

Please spare a thought for our hard-working waste and recycling crews who will be working as normal over the bank holidays on Thursday and Friday.”
