AN UPDATE has been given by Stroud District Council regarding the £150 energy rebates.
Householders across the Stroud district have now started to receive their money.
The first payments have been made to eligible residents who pay council tax by direct debit.
By the end of the week up to 30,000 households will have received their rebate which will be paid into the same account that council tax payments are taken from.
The remaining households which do not pay their council tax by direct debit will be contacted and invited to apply via an online portal which will be live from Monday, May 23.
Once the form has been completed, a verification process will take place which will take up to two weeks to complete.
Householders who live in council tax bands A to D qualify for the £150 rebate as part of the Government’s initiative to help households with rising energy costs.
SDC say they are working hard to process payments as fast as possible.
Leader Doina Cornell said: “I’m pleased to report that the first payments have been received by householders in the Stroud district.
“Anyone who doesn’t pay their council tax by direct debit can sign up by registering for a My SDC account – it’s quick and easy to do and will allow you to access council services online including Council Tax, business rates, housing benefit and council tax support.”
