THE STROUD Food and Drink festival is nearly upon us.
Stroud Festival of Food and Drink will run across several venues, bringing a welcome uplift to the local economy.
Residents can look forward to cookery demos, food talks, live music and much more.
Here is all you need to know
The festival will run across several venues from Friday, May 20 until Sunday, May 22.
Jay Rayner, Oz Clarke and Jack Stein, son of renowned chef Rick Stein, Lloyd Grossman, Ken Hom and Rustie Lee are among the high-profile names taking part.
Stroud’s finest home-grown food producers, chefs and restaurant owners will also be on the menu.
There will be family entertainment and culinary games, live music brunches and street markets.
The festival will be staged at venues in and around town, including at the Sub Rooms, Bank Gardens, the Cornhill, and Fawkes Place.
Events include an Oktoberfest style pop up called the Blossom Party, with live music and beer, which is being held at the Cornhill on Saturday.
Many of the events will be free, and Stroud will be buzzing with food trucks and bars, offering everything from international cuisine and local artisan produce, to vegan street food.
Opening Times
Opening times for Fawkes Place, Bank Gardens and Lansdown are as follows:
Friday, May 20 - 4pm until 10.30pm
Saturday, May 21 - 11am until 10.30pm
Sunday, May 22 - midday to 9pm
Road closures
Multiple roads near the town centre will be closed.
Gloucester Street, Lansdown, Fawkes Place and London Road will see closures.
