CHURCHES from across Stroud united for a Good Friday 'Walk of Witness' to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The annual procession - which has not taken place in two years due to Covid - started at the top of Stroud High Street just after 11am this morning in the glorious sunshine.
It began with hymn the Servant King before a gospel reading.
The attendees then carried the cross and marched down Stroud High Street on their way to King Street.
Walks or Marches of Witness are a national event, however the Stroud march was organised by Churches Together in Stroud, an umbrella organisation for the town’s Christian community.
Good Friday is one of the most important days in the Christian festival of Easter.
Christians around the world mourn and reflect on the day that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross.
Church doors will be open across Stroud this Sunday for further Easter services
