TWO chainsaw heroes helped clear a fallen tree from the A46 in Stroud last night.
The large tree fell on the A46 Bath Road by Kwik-Fit and the Clockhouse Vets entrance at 6.15pm.
When Charlie Wilson-Copp and John Hopkinson saw what had happened, they rolled up their sleeves, dusted off their chainsaws and joined the police in clearing the road.
One resident said: "Big shout out to Charlie Wilson-Copp and John Hopkinson for spending two hours with their chainsaws clearing the road."
A member of staff at the Clockhouse Vets said: "It was so lucky no one was hurt.
"We had a client arrive at 6.15 ish with an emergency and the tree was not there, and then literally a minute after the vet found the road blocked. It was so very lucky no one was squashed."
