A HAIR SALON has recently opened in Stroud by two friends who wanted to work together.
The businessess recently opened after the two friends – who have worked in different salons – were able to run something as a joint venture.
Wilder salon which is located in Bath Road is owned by friends Katie Allen and Laura Hellier.
Katie said: “We have been friends for years working together in different salons.
“We always wanted to do something together but just never happened. We are both at the time where we wanted to progress and move on in our careers.
“When this came up at Bankfield house it just made complete sense that we did it here because it is such a beautiful building and we have the beauty salon (absolutely fabulous) in the same building as us.
“It is a really great place for women and men to come and get all hair and beauty done!
Before opening on December 1, they had only 28 days to completely transform the salon, which they say was hard work.
“I have a family with two children and Laura is pregnant and due any day so it was hard but it has definitely paid off.
“I will be working alone until Laura joins me and we hope to rent a chair out next year.
“We wanted the salon to feel relaxed and have a homely feeling to it, it’s very fresh and has a timeless decor, with floor to ceiling windows which gives such good lighting.
“Clients have said it feels very exclusive, and the views out the window along the canal are beautiful.
“We are so excited. It has already been very busy and we cannot wait to welcome all new and existing clients here.
Wilder salon is in Bankfield House in Bath Road and they do all colouring using L'Oreal colours.
You can see pictures of their work on their Instagram page @wilder.salon.
The salon opening times aren’t fully decided but at the moment Katie is full time and they open Mon-Sat though times vary.
