RESIDENTS across Stroud clanged pots and pans on Saturday night, as part of the Clang for Climate protest.
The apolitical event was held across the country, ahead of COP26 - the 2021 United Nations climate change conference in Glasgow - which kicked off on Sunday.
One group who gathered on the steps of the Sub Rooms, added steel drums and handbells to their pots and pans, to add extra decibels to their 'wake-up call' for world leaders on the eve of the summit.
Organisers of the event also invited churches and cathedrals to take part by ringing out their bells.
Bells were rung at St Lawrence’s Church in Stroud, and in Bisley, where residents, including district councillor Martin Brown and tower captain Ian Bucknell, rang three of the village’s eight bells.
Stroud District Councillor Martin Brown said: “The actions aimed to send a strong signal to world leaders to show that people all over the UK and all around the world demand immediate action to save our planet and its people from catastrophe.
"We were very pleased to take part in this national event demanding action from government leaders at COP26.”
