STROUD’S own jazz festival opened at the weekend with performances from Mica Paris and the James Taylor Quartet at the Sub Rooms.
Running until Sunday, Jazz Stroud features a series of live music events that embrace the whole spectrum of jazz, ranging from its more traditional forms to improvised electronic music, experimental, hip-hop and beyond.
There are concerts, live sessions and club nights, with a special set from reggae selector, sound clash champion and MBE, David Rodigan.
He will be playing his unique collection of customised dub plates and classic recordings at the Sub Rooms on Saturday.
Also on the night, Stroud’s Three Bags Full crew will be playing out through the Majestic Vision Sound System, plus there will be sets from Rafeelya and DJ Juicy.
Festival line-up includes performances from: Run Logan Run; Mermaid Chunky; Myogenics, Harri Pepper, Delonte Rivers; Yelfris Valdes; Immi Dash & Cameron Burr; Jasper Kirton; Moina Moin & guests; Anja Ngozi; Levitation Orchestra; Natalie Duncan; Ayanna Witter-Johnson.
