THIS fabulous old image of a bus in the Stroud Show carnival parade is part of an upcoming exhibition.
Stroud Local History Society will be putting on its summer show at the Museum in the Park, from Saturday, August 28, to Sunday, September 5.
The theme this year is festivals and shows, including looking at how the town celebrated - and visited - the 1951 Festival of Britain, where Slad author Laurie Lee was the Curator of Eccentricities.
Also included will be the 2004 story of the town's year-long celebration of 700 years as an independent parish; 150 years of Stroud Show; several Stonehouse festivals, plus a rolling slideshow of cheerful events in Stroud, Rodborough, Stonehouse and Chalford over the past 100 years.
