Nailsworth gift shop named best across two counties

An independent jewellery and gift shop, it is run by Liz Gazzard, a mum of two.

She said: “The pandemic hit hard for all small independents but at A&G we seized the opportunity and worked around the clock, employing my two sons to help open up a second room dedicated to gifts and homewares and to also setting up a new website.

“Countless hours were put into finding new stock with my colleague Zoey.”

This combination of hard work and family support has paid off, with the store being voted the best gift shop in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

“The support from Vicki, Hayley, Ella and Martha on the floor to promote the awards has been crucial,” added Liz.

“Muddy Stilletos prides themselves in being the UK’s most prestigious local lifestyle awards, and everyone at A&G is extremely proud of our accomplishment.”

Armed & Gorgeous started off as a jewellery shop over 15 years ago in a small single-roomed shop in Nailsworth.

Since then it has managed to win best jewellery shop in Gloucestershire twice.

This is the first year that the competition has been across two counties and this is the first year A&G were eligible to enter for gift shop.

“I am over the moon that we won best gift shop across all of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire! This is the biggest accolade the shop's ever received,” added Liz.

“I’m so thankful for everyone on the team they’ve been so good across the pandemic. Also, I want to say a massive thank you to our customers for supporting us and voting for us, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.”

Since opening up their second floor, A&G have expanded from primarily jewellery and women’s fashion to include:gifts, homewares, lighting, handmade pottery, fabrics, cards, beauty products and home fragrances.
