A garden of dreamlike lights filled with treetop aerialists, fire dancers and roaming actors entertained guests in Painswick on Tuesday.
Midsummer Lights’ contemporary take on an 18th century garden party – or fete champetre – brought imaginative light installations, singers and other spectacles to Rococo Garden.
In association with Spectacle of Light, the Garden and woodland was transformed into a mystical world where playful characters popped out and entertained as guests walked through the enchanted setting.
Attendees’ experience began on the Bowling Green and orchards with a picnic and champagne bar, but as the light faded, the magic began, and guests were invited to explore magical scenes until 11.00pm.
The event is scheduled again for Wednesday and Friday evening at 8pm. Guests are asked to bring their own picnic and advised that the event is not designed for young children.
It is not an event suitable for dogs.
There will be a fizz bar and ice-cream on sale.
Tickets are £30.00 per person and can be booked online.
Organised ask anyone with Covid symptoms not to attend, nor those who have tested positive or have been requested to self-isolate.
