Get ready for Noise on the ‘Nal: A series of performances and events taking place along Stroudwater canal this summer.

Cotswold Canals Connected is putting on entertainment and exhibitions on the last Sunday of every month.

The next event, Mechanical Textiles, will appear in Stroud, Ebley and Stonehouse on July 25.

In celebration of Stroud’s rich history in weaving and textiles, come and join Janine from Freeweaver Studio and help create a woven piece at Wallbridge, under the double roundabout in Stroud.

Between 4pm and 6pm, performance artist Tom Sellick-Newton will showcase a canal-inspired piece named ‘The Coal is Coming Home’, exploring the history of fuel, power and hope on the waterways.

There will also be exhibition of work by local artist Dan Guthrie displaying prints of African Textiles.

In Ryeford North, near the Wycliffe School bridge in Ebley, you can view the community artist textile banners between 2pm and 6pm, and pick up a family activities maps and trails.

At the Ocean, behind Stonehouse Court Hotel, performance storyteller Corrine Harrigan will be sharing stories from English and European folklore that weave life and land together from 2pm to 6pm.

Luke Philbrick and the Solid Gone Skiffle Invasion will be playing roots rock skiffle music drawing on traditional blues, jazz and folk with frequent forays into gypsy-tinged psychedelia between 4pm and 6pm.
