A 13-year-old girl was taken to Bristol Children's hospital on Saturday after suffering serious injuries in a collision on the A40 near Highnam, and police are appealing for witnesses.
At approximately 5.55pm there was a collision involving a Ford Kuga and a push bike which was being ridden by the child from Gloucester.
Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital for treatment and she remains there today.
The road was closed for around five hours while police carried out a collision investigation and police are now appealing for any further witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
Police would also like to thank those who stopped at the scene of the collision to assist.
