Over the last fortnight our readers have been nominating the top 15 takeaways in Cam and Dursley, Thornbury, Yate and Sodbury.
For the next three weeks we’ll be profiling each of them so you can choose the Gazette Series Best Takeaway 2021 winner.
This week we’re showcasing Thornbury venues, the fourth of which is Thornbury Tandoori, which Bahar Uddin has been running for three years in The Plain.
Bahar, from Newport, has been trying his hand at takeaways and deliveries since the first lockdown, which he said is going very well.
When he found out he had been nominated by our readers, Bahar said: “I’m very excited. I think it’s really amazing because it means we must be doing well then.”
“We want to say to all of our customers a great and big thank you for choosing us.”
Despite the restaurant area being closed, Thornbury Tandoori is still serving up a huge choice of menu items, including everything from Biryani, Balti, Tandoori, duck, fish and vegan options, to customers doors.
Asked what it would mean to Bahar and his team if they won the Gazette Best Takeway 2021, he said: “It would be a great achievement for us.”
If you think the Thornbury Tadnoori should be crowned the best takeaway, you can vote for them using the voting coupon in this week’s paper (Thursday, March 25) or next week’s (April 1).
Or take a look at the other contestants we’ve profiled this week:
Simply post the coupon to: Gazette Series Best Takeaway, Redhill House, 227 London Road, Worcester, WR5 2JG.
Voting ends on Sunday April 11, 2021.
