A woman found a sign from the King’s Head in Minchinhampton when she moved into a house 14 miles away from the pub, which closed 60 years ago.
Lorraine Appleyard and her family were clearing out the garage of their new home in Gloucester when she noticed the face of Henry VIII staring back at her from behind the shelves.
A sticker on the sign read "King's Head at Forwood, Michinhampton, Stroud."
“I was surprised, we don’t know where it’s come from, but we’re assuming they bought it,” said Mrs Appleyard.
“We might put it on display in the museum in Stroud or put it up for auction so those people who are interested in it can bid for it.”
The King’s Head was situated at the junction between Well Hill and New Road until it closed in the 1960’s.
It was owned by Forwood - a brewing and land-owning family - and later Stroud brewery, but it is now a residential property.
