RED-HOT Forest Green striker Jamille Matt bagged a hat-rick as his side maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a thumping 4-1 victory at struggling Scunthorpe United.
It started brightly enough for the Iron as Aaron Jarvis opened the scoring on nine minutes - arrowing beyond Luke McGee from the edge of the box.
Matt had a goal ruled out with the ball looking over the line, but he netted parity on 24 minutes - pouncing as the ball fell to him from strike partner Aaron Collins. Eight minutes later and Matt helped himself to his second as the experienced forward nodded in a teasing Nicky Cadden corner
Scunthorpe flickered into life after the break - McGee saving well from Abou Eisa, but Rovers responded with captain Carl Winchester kissing the bar from an audacious strike from the halfway line.
Matt completed his hat-trick with seven minutes to go - fizzing in from and Ebou Adams assist.
In the dying embers of the game super-sub Matty Stevens slammed in from the edge of the box with his fourth goal in as many games.
Rovers move up to sixth in the early season standings.
