Documentary filmmakers believe new photographs prove the existence of big cats in Gloucestershire.
Britain’s Big Cat Mystery will explore the UK's supposed population of large cats.
There have been numerous 'sightings' across Gloucestershire in recent years. The documentary’s lead researcher, Tim Whittard, was driving along a country lane one night when he nearly hit a 'large, powerful-looking black cat'.
As final editing for the documentary was taking place, the team came across new photos from a trail camera placed near the Forest of Dean.
Tim said: "The photographs have been viewed by a respected and credentialed zoologist who has unequivocally identified the animal in the photographs as a puma.
"The photographs are going to be kept exclusive to the documentary so that the analysis and scaling of the photos can be shown in detail."
