TWO more market traders have been confirmed this week for Stroud’s new indoor market, which is set to open later in the spring.

The indoor market, styled on London’s famous Borough Market, is planned for Stroud’s new-look shopping centre, Five Valleys, previously known as Merrywalks.

Pershore Seafood and Tuga Pastries will join the market as permanent traders, trading six days a week.

Pershore Seafood will bring a wide variety of freshly sourced fish from Plymouth including cod, haddock, salmon and shellfish – supplying both the public and restaurant trade.

Headed up by David Witts, Pershore Seafood have established a popular reputation in the South West and also have stalls at Eastgate market in Gloucester and Oxford covered market.

Tuga Pastries will be bringing their award-winning Pastel de Nata to the Five Valleys Market as well as other Portuguese food, groceries, coffee, drinks and wine.

Tuga Pastries headed by Jose Cardosa also trade on various Farmers’ Markets in the region, including the Stroud Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, and are already a popular choice for local shoppers.

The new indoor market has been styled on London’s Borough Market and will be home to 20 stalls trading 6 days a week.

The Five Valley’s Market is on track to open later in the spring and will offer a variety of produce and crafts from local traders.

Five Valleys Centre Manager Dionne Moore said: “We are delighted to welcome Pershore Seafood and Tuga Pastries who will undoubtedly strengthen our offering at the new indoor Market.

“Both of these traders are really popular in the region and we are looking forward to announce more local stalls in the coming weeks!”

The two latest businesses to announce they’re joining the line up will join three great food to go outlets confirmed earlier this month.
