PUPILS in Amberley have been raising funds to help the environment.
Amberley School’s Eco Club and Messy Church collaborated to sell bee friendly plants and cake to buy a carbon offset for the school’s gas and electricity consumption last year.
"Through sales after school, via an honesty box, and at Amberley Church's Harvest Festival, we raised the £181.23 needed to offset 32 tonnes of carbon dioxide," a school spokesperson said.
"This money will be used to provide water purification equipment and efficient cooking stoves in developing countries.
"Not only will this 'remove' our 32 tonnes from the atmosphere, it will also improve the lives of people benefitting from the scheme."
