A HORSE on the common has had its mane cut in a bizarre incident which could leave him highly susceptible to eye infections.
The incident involved a horse called Hercules.
Posting on Facebook, community page Kill Your Speed, Not Us wrote: "Hercules the horse has been attacked with scissors.
"Suddenly he looks like he has been to visit a partially sighted hairdresser in a dark salon.
"This is serious as he suffers with eye infections, his long mane helps combat this and reduces regular infections. His owner John said that if this continues to happen, he will have to be put to sleep for his own welfare.
"So please do not cut any ponies manes on the common and if you see anyone doing so, please tell them to stop immediately and get vehicle reg if possible and photo of them."
