A MUM has expressed her frustration after her horse-riding daughter was put in danger by 'disrespectful' motorists.
Pippa Burke's daughter and her daughter's friend were riding horses when a car and a motorbike drove past dangerously and startled the animals.
Posting on Facebook, Pippa wrote: "I’m really upset, my daughter and friend were riding our ponies down Bath Road towards Leonard Stanley Primary School, and an orange scrambler motorbike and a silver Audi TT were revving their engines behind the horses then raced past causing both horses to gallop along the tarmac.
"It goes without saying how seriously disrespectful and dangerous this is."
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "Police received a report yesterday evening of dangerous driving in Leonard Stanley.
"It was reported that the drivers of a car and motorcycle spooked horses that were being ridden on Bath Road at around 4.45pm.
"It is believed that the horses became spooked after the vehicles drove past at speed.
"The vehicles were described as being an Audi TT and an orange off road motorcycle.
"Anyone who was in the area or has information on the vehicles is asked to call 101 quoting incident 441 of October 23."
