A WARNING has been issued after a calf was hit on the common last night.
The incident has provoked anger on social media, with many people calling for information to be passed to the police about the vehicle involved, which did not stop.
One post suggests that information about the vehicle has been passed to the authorities.
According to reports, the animal was not bady injured and ran off.
The Kill Your Speed, Not Us Facebook page has put up a police poster highlighting the law on the matter.
According to the law, motorists must report a collision with livestock within 24 hours.
Failure to do so may result in 5 to 10 penalty points, a £1,000 fine and even a driving ban.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "Police were called to Minchinhampton Common shortly after 6.45pm yesterday, Thursday, following reports that a calf had been hit by a car.
"The owner of the calf has been informed however it is unknown if the animal was injured."
