A CLIMATE change activist from Stroud locked horns with TV presenter Piers Morgan over the Extinction Rebellion campaign.

Stroud District councillor Skeena Rathor, who represents Stroud Central ward, appeared on Good Morning Britain to speak about the action currently being undertaken by the group in London.

Piers Morgan said that although he agreed in principle that not enough was being done about climate change, he didn't believe the campaigners were 'practising what they preached'.

The presenter demanded to know if Ms Rathor had a TV.

She responded: "Can you tell me the point you're trying to make, Piers?"

He repeated the question numerous times, becoming increasingly frustrated when she didn't answer.

He also wanted to know how she travelled to the studio, whether her home had air conditioning, and if her children used iPads.

Ms Rathor defended herself by saying: "I'm not here to answer personal questions.

"But to function, to be able to be here to raise the alarm, I have to be part of this system.

"Unless you live in a wood completely on your own, you're going to be part of this system."

In a Facebook post, one Extinction Rebellion supporter commented: "Rather than let Skeena Rathor explain the importance of climate change and the UK government's lack of action and Extinction Rebellion's cause, he personally blasted her."

Extinction Rebellion has now submitted an official complaint to ITV.
