Legendary football referee Brian Stevens picked up the Sporting Hero gong at the Pride of the Cotswolds awards.
Brian has just retired after refereeing more than 3,100 football matches in a career that took him to the very top of the game.
He took charge of three games at Wembley stadium but continued refereeing Gloucestershire youth games at the same time and helped train more than 150 referees.
Brian said winning the award was one of the best things that had ever happened to him.
“The evening has been brilliant. The award just shows what people think of me in the community,” he added.
