Ashton Keynes CE Primary won last year’s School of the Year award.
Headteacher Samantha Saville insisted that other members of her team from the popular school near Cirencester joined her on stage to receive the award, as she paid tribute to their hard work and dedication.
The school received its nomination in recognition of the “amazing teachers and teaching assistants led by the dynamic, inspirational and outstanding headteacher, Samantha Saville”.
Children thrive during their time there, the school buzzes with activity and children develop a love of learning and strategies to cope with challenges.
With a school motto “Shine bright and reach for the stars” everyone at the school makes sure that this is at the heart of all their teaching.
When asked what motivates the team, Samantha said: “Our children skip into school at the age of four and our job is to make sure they skip back out again at the end of their time here.”
Runners up were Cirencester Sixth Form College and The Peak Academy.
