RPC bpi recycled products is a division of RPC bpi group employing over 400 people across the UK. Our head office is in Heanor, Derbyshire with three other recycling and manufacturing sites in Stroud, Gloucestershire, Rhymney, Wales and Dumfries in Scotland.
We are at the forefront of the circular economy and Europe’s leading manufacture of refuse sacks and recently we gained the Certificate for Plastics Recycling (EUCertPlast) which focuses on traceability of recycled material throughout the supply chain.
We have created the UK’s largest polythene recycling infrastructure across our four Environment Agency accredited UK sites, with the ability to reprocess post-use material from commercial, retail, industrial and agricultural markets. This recycled polythene is used to produce products such as our award winning Green Sack™. The Green Sack™ range is made in the UK from 100% recycled British farm plastic that might otherwise be burnt or sent to landfill.
At RPC bpi recycled products we put sustainability, innovation and customer service at the heart of everything we do. We embrace environmental stewardship with zero waste to landfill sites accredited by Valpak and closed loop manufacturing systems. We are constantly finding new ways to conserve natural resources and harness the power of innovation to ensure RPC bpi recycled products has a positive impact on plastic manufacturing and our world.
One of our most recent initiatives ‘Recycle with Riley’ is with local primary schools in Stroud. The children are taught the 3 R’s, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and encouraged to bring into school their household waste plastic film so it can be recycled back into second life products, such as refuse sacks and Plaswood products. A similar bring back scheme is also available to our employees whereby we encourage them to bring in their plastic film waste – currently not collected by local authorities.
Children at Thrupp Primary School were the first in Stroud to complete the Recycle with Riley Challenge. The school embraced the challenge collecting 100kg of plastic film in only 56 days. Their prize was a Snakes and Ladders Activity Picnic Table for the playground made from the plastic they collected. The table is a nature friendly, sustainable and a renewable product made from Plaswood - a 100% recycled plastic.
Patrick Carroll, from RPC bpi recycled products in Stroud added “Our aim with Recycle with Riley was not only to engage the next generation but for them to be ambassadors to their parents and adults within their families, to push the importance of recycling through the Five Valley Community while reinforcing the importance of plastics have in our world.”
Awards that are endorsed by our customers or industry leaders are celebrated within RPC bpi recycled products. We know our products and services are innovative and first class but it is always good to receive independent and third party endorsement for the work we do. This year we have been finalists in the Tomorrow’s Cleaning Innovation Awards, the EPRO (European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations) Awards and The Plastics and Recycling Europe Awards.
