Cotswolds Hare Trail founder Florence Beetlestone won the Cotswold Community Pride award last year.
Five years ago Florence decided she wanted to bring art into public spaces across the Cotswolds, and visitors to the area. Her vision and tireless work has led to thousands of people flocking to see the stunning trail of hares across dozens of locations.
Passionate about art, and local artists, she has provided a platform for them to reach a new audience with their creativity through encouraging them to be part of the project.
The economic benefits that she has brought to businesses through bringing visitors to the area is significant. All profits from the auction of the hares each year goes to local charities.
Florence had to overcome a lot of opposition to her idea to create the trail, but she stuck to her vision of how successful it could be and ensured it came to fruition. She also won the Best Community Project award in 2018.
2018's Cotswold Community Pride runners up were Michelle Stutter and Sue Tomlinson.
