NOWHERE is the 'it'll never happen to me' attitude more prevalent than amongst drivers who take risks on the road.
Every motorist knows of someone who has been in a car crash and thus we are all aware that collisions, injuries and deaths on the road can so easily happen β yet so many drivers still choose to speed or overtake dangerously.
We can only presume that they believe that they could never be involved in a crash, and that is such a selfish stance to take as they could kill or seriously injure another road user β and that is why campaigners including horse riders have united in this region to send a message to dangerous drivers.
βToo many horse riders, horses and cyclists are losing their lives on our roads," one of the campaigners, Denise Lerego Prout said, and she is absolutely right.
So, to every driver out there who thinks they have the right to speed or overtake dangerously, just consider this: how would you feel if a member of your family was killed by a reckless motorist?
