A POLICE helicopter circling over Nailsworth last night was looking for a man, following an assault.
Residents reported being woken up by the helicopter flying over the Forest Green area at around midnight.
Witnesses also said they saw police officers with dogs in the area at the same time.
A police spokesman said: "The National Police Air Service were assisting us in searches to locate a man following reports of an assault in Nailsworth last night."
The police have said they will not be releasing any further details about the incident at this time.
