CAUSES close to the heart of much-loved Jack Mitchell are set to benefit from an all star rugby game.
This year’s Jack Mitchell Memorial Trophy will see Painswick All Stars take on Jack’s former friends and colleagues from 32nd Regiment Royal Artillery at Painswick RFC at 3pm on Saturday, April 27.
Their game will follow Cainscross RFC battling Dursley RFC 2nd XV counterparts in the Junior Plate Final at 1.30pm.
Throughout the day there will also be bouncy castles, face painting, a BBQ, a prize draw raffle and ice cream.
A karaoke and disco in the evening will close off the club family day.
Jack, 24, who died in February 2017, served in Kenya as a signaller for the British Army and funds raised from the memorial day will go to Painswick Rugby Club and two Kenyan charities.
These are the Nanyuki Children’s Charitable Trust, which gives money to deprived children in Kenya, and the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, which runs an animal orphanage in the country.
Painswick RFC is at Broadham Fields, Stroud Road, Painswick.
