IT is Easter Saturday this week and customers can look forward to a bumper market with a superb variety of food and drink.
A later Easter than most years it’s true, but the fact I am announcing that Besley’s Fruits will be there with the first strawberries of the year is something of a shock even to me!
It won’t be a large amount, apparently, so best to get there early but they will be at the market every week now barring a meteorological disaster.
Personally, I will also be welcoming access to their fantastic strawberry jam!
As is traditional at the Easter Saturday market, Hinton Marsh Farm will be roasting a whole lamb, served in Severn Bakery Pitta breads with Jess’ Ladies yoghurt, Garlic Farm Mint Sauce and GF mango and peach chutney.
Our bakers will have their own takes on the hot cross bun and Faithfull’s Quality Baking, who always attends with Christmas cakes during November and December, will have seasonal Simnel cakes for Easter too and there will be eggs galore with chicken, duck and goose eggs all available at various stalls.
Furthermore, we are delighted to see the return of Seb’s Cider to the market after they had a great time at Goodwill evening.
Seb’s hails from Hereford and makes delicious rustic cider in small batches and is not to be missed if you are a cider lover. With Kombucha, Welsh Cakes, David’s chilli oils, Hillside Brewery, Tortworth Plant Nursery there something for all.
See you between 9am and 2pm at the Cornhill.
