THERE are so many people and organisations across Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire that make a hugely positive impact on their communities, and so we are delighted to once again champion their achievements with the second year of our Pride of the Cotswolds awards.
With awards for volunteers, charity fundraisers, health carers and more, Pride is all about recognising the skill and dedication of people and teams who may otherwise fly under the radar. A great example of this is Wotton-under-Edge's Tricia Henderson-Ross, who won the Charity Fundraiser of the Year category last year for her hard work for Longfield Hospice. Although Tricia is modest and doesn't seek the spotlight, her efforts for the hospice deserved recognition and it was fantastic to see how much the award meant to her.
So, if you know someone or a team who deserve praise, please nominate them. We will aim to profile all nominees in the paper and online, and that public recognition can be such a boost for them.
